2/17/2024 0 Comments Pro tools 11 high sierraI was running a very stable Mac OS 10.12.6 Sierra and Pro Tools 2019.5 Ultimate, S3 and Dock. “Just a brief update on my research for a fix, surprisingly I was contacted by Avid without opening a case, I'm now providing them with all info related to this issue. The suggestion in the thread is to go to macOS High Sierra. The second solution that has worked for most people is to upgrade your macOS. This second solution should work for you… Update to macOS High Sierra To be fair though the Mac Pro / Chrome problem happened so they probably moved onto that.”īut what if you haven’t got Time Machine set up? Firstly, why not? We recommend Time Machine as part of a backup strategy for Mac users, but obviously that isn’t going to help you resolve this issue. Told Avid support and they closed my case. Had too much work on so used Time Machine to roll back to before I plugged in my phone and I’m up and running again. “So I never got to the bottom of this problem. When you trash prefs that plugin cache is (optionally) cleared so Pro Tools does a deep scan of all plugins and that can seem to create a problem if there are problematic plugins - the underlying problem was already there, you just couldn't see it.” Use Time Machine To Roll BackĪfter a suggestion from ‘mirovaz’ who suggested using Apple’s Time Machine to roll back to before the problem started, as it had worked for him, Richard, who started the thread, posted… “Trashing prefs can make things worse in one case - plugins are cached and not verified by Pro Tools to speed start-up. On the trashing Preferences, Pete Gates, the maker of the excellent free PT Prefs app responded… Surely not connected? Any ideas? I've trashed prefs (made it worse) and ran first Aid on the boot drive.” A bit of software had to download, which it did. When I plugged it into my Mac I had a message come up saying that to connect my iPhone. The only thing that's changed is I upgraded my iPhone to iSO13. Now I have a few plug-ins that won't load because "they aren't valid 64bit" ? They have worked fine up to this point. Suddenly on booting up a session I had a AAE 7058 unauthorised plugin error. The thread on the DUC was started by Richard Spooner, back on September 21st, who posted… Thank you for your patience as we are working closely with Apple to address this issue with urgency. For the latest updates and information please visit the Knowledgebase.” Alternatively, you may choose to upgrade your macOS to High Sierra (10.13) or later to avoid the issue. If you have upgraded your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13 and are running macOS Sierra on your Pro Tools computer, please be advised to not connect your iPhone or iPad to your Mac until we have resolved this issue. If you connect your iOS 13 device to your Mac running macOS Sierra, certain plugins may become deactivated. “As we continue to work towards full compatibility with Apple’s iOS 13, we wanted to alert you to an issue we’ve uncovered with iOS 13 devices connected to Mac computers running macOS Sierra (10.12). In response to this article Avid has sent us this statement, which confirms the problem and supports our advice… UPDATE: Avid Issue Statement Regarding iOS13 and macOS Sierra There isn’t a definite fix yet but there are solutions that are working for most who try them, which Avid has now confirmed in a statement. If you are not able to find what you are looking for there, you can submit a ticket to our Tech Support Team. There is a thread on the DUC which is causing some concern for Pro Tools users running macOS Sierra 10.12 who when they upgrade their iOS device to iOS 13, causes problems with Pro Tools, throwing up an AAE Error -7058. Thank attach below the log of the export that produces the issues, that one is with blender 2.82 but i have also tested the same with 2.80 and same issue. If you have any tip about this issue let me know If I combine a number of similar meshes I have no problems, Interestingly once in the past I did this text meshes thing and I didnt have the problem, not sure whats the issue in this specific case It seems to be something about those extra text meshes, when I get rid of them it all works well. I have tried to just assign the same material to all of them, but mmm still the problem happens anyway. It just bakes the material wrong and it all appears black in babylon. When I now export this one single mesh, something weird happens with the material unfortunately. I convert all of them to meshes, and then I merge them all using the join function of blender, so they all become one mesh. Say I have a mesh, but then I also have 4 text objects and a couple of cubes. Where I am finding a challenge is in the following case: It also works perfect when I combine say a few meshes that use the same material, all perfect. When i export meshes from blender 2.8 using the 2.8 exporter of babylon to babylon format, it works really great, all perfect. 2/17/2024 0 Comments Whats a quicky bolt used forThe end of the bolt is threaded to accommodate the nut, while the shank fits within the wood. The square neck fits with square holes and notches that are cut into ironwork, which prevents the bolt from turning after it’s tightened in place. One of the most notable features of the carriage bolt is its square neck, which is positioned directly below the head and before the unthreaded portion of the shaft-also called the shank. It also prevents the bolt from being manipulated from the exterior. In addition to creating a smooth, unobtrusive profile, the head shape helps to broaden the bearing surface and eliminates the need for a washer. Today, they are applied to many wood-based structures that have metal hardware.Ĭarriage bolts have a dome or mushroom-shaped head. They derive their names from their use on the frames of carriages. The following information will explain their uses and features and clarify what makes each bolt distinct for specific structural needs.Ĭarriage bolts, which are also called coach bolts, can be used in some metal-to-metal connections, but they are mainly used to fasten metal parts to wood. There is, however, some overlap, which is shown in bolts that are designed to work with wood.įasteners like timber bolts, plough bolts, and carriage bolts have special features that make them uniquely suited to installation in wood. Those heavier structural materials are more commonly associated with fasteners like bolts and anchors. Such options work reliably in wood, as it’s a relatively soft material compared to concrete, steel, iron, and brick. In wood-to-wood connections, nails and screws are some of the most common types of fasteners that hold a structure together. 2/17/2024 0 Comments Simple simon nursery rhymeThe poem is briefly (and stutteringly) recited in the Merrie Melodiesanimated short I Love to Singa.UK 1970s childrens' programme Daisy Daisy featured a regular animated segment about Simple Simon who in each episode is bullied by antagonists The Meanies only to be rescued by the Pieman who defeats and humiliates the Meanies by throwing custard pies at them. The short was directed by animator Ub Iwerks. The short focuses mostly on an expanded version of Simon's encounter with the Pie Man and his visit to the fair, and also adds a pet goose to the cast. Animation studio Comicolor produced an animated short based on the rhyme in 1935 titled Simple Simon. The verses used today are the first of a longer chapbook history first published in 1764. The character of Simple Simon may have been in circulation much longer, possibly appearing in an Elizabethan chapbook and in a ballad, Simple Simon's Misfortunes and his Wife Margery's Cruelty, from about 1685. Another possible inspiration was Simon Edy, a beggar in the St Giles area in the 18th century. Simple Simon and the pie man, according to Denslow He went for water in a sieve But soon it all fell through And now poor Simple Simon Bids you all adieu! Simple Simon went to look If plums grew on a thistle He pricked his fingers very much, Which made poor Simon whistle. Simple Simon went a-fishing, For to catch a whale All the water he had got, Was in his mother's pail. Says the pieman to Simple Simon, Show me first your penny Says Simple Simon to the pieman, Indeed I have not any. Simple Simon met a pieman, Going to the fair Says Simple Simon to the pieman, Let me taste your ware. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 19777. "Simple Simon" is a popular English language nursery rhyme. I have done a lot of MOC builds and honestly this was the worst one I tried and now I question if I want to ever do another one of this designers MOC's. The structures on the ship that hold the wings are the worst I have ever seen. The fin on top of the ship has no physical means of connecting the pieces together in the middle so get your super glue out for this. The wings are extremely unstable and fall apart due to the weight and not enough support. the front bottom part of the cockpit appears to be magically connected as their are no connecting pieces for it. instructions show additional pieces on the build, but there is no instructions on these pieces actually being connected. Let's go over the issues I had with this MOC: - instructions do not show how all the pieces are connected or you can't see how they are connected due to the angle in the pictures. If this designer would have actually built this MOC he would have seen the issues with his instructions and the build itself. So I wasn't going to post anything because I don't like posting negative reviews unless absolutely deserved and I am sure the designer worked very hard to create this, but this MOC is complete garbage. 2/16/2024 0 Comments Long stories short menuThe longer-story of this restaurant's origins goes back to when they met at the Art Institute of California San Diego where they each earned bachelor's degrees in culinary management. The couple, who recently wrapped up a successful 20-month guest kitchen residency at Vino Carta Solana Beach, have both honed their skills at acclaimed restaurants like Juniper & Ivy and Cowboy Star. The highly anticipated eatery has chefs Elliott and Kelly Townsend, a talented husband-and-wife duo, at the helm, transforming the space previously occupied by Little Thief Wine Bar & Kitchen into their gastronomic masterpiece at 3017 University Avenue, according to Fox 5 San Diego. As one Irish storyteller put it: “It’s a need for connection … I think storytelling nurtures connections with people in real life.North Park's culinary scene in San Diego is about to be treated to an exciting new addition with the official opening of Long Story Short, a locally and seasonally sourced restaurant offering California cuisine. Today, storytelling and interest in storytelling appears to be making a comeback. Prominent in the Irish oral tradition are tales of kings and heroes. They told the old myths as well as local news and happenings. They would travel from village to village, reciting ancient lore and tales of wisdom. Irish Storytelling The seanchaí were the traditional Irish keepers of story. An important part of the ceremony is “four questions” asked by the youngest children present, which are the impetus for telling the story. During a meal, the story of the Exodus is told, an oral tradition passed down through generations to educate the young. The Passover celebration includes a storytelling ritual known as the seder, or order. The Jewish People and the Passover Seder On Passover, families of Jewish faith celebrate the exodus of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. Both men and women can take up the profession: women are called griottes. There are also griot schools, where more formal training can be had. The griots are traditionally hereditary, a profession or office passed from one generation to the next. Some of the most famous stories from western Africa are those of Anansi, the trickster spider. They perform the functions of storyteller, genealogist, historian, ambassador, and more. Long part of western African culture are the griots: storytellers, troubadours, and counsellors to kings. As in other cultures, the role of the storyteller is to entertain and educate. In many parts of Africa, after dinner, the village congregates around a central fire to listen to the storyteller. Western African Storytelling The peoples of sub-Saharan Africa have strong storytelling traditions. Hawaiians valued the stories because they were not only entertaining, but they also taught the next generation about behavior, values, and traditions. Hawaiian storytelling was not limited to words alone-it included talking but also encompassed mele (song), oli (chant), and hula (dance). Traditionally, Native Hawaiian storytellers, who knew history and genealogy, were honored members of society. Other stories tell of navigation across the seas. Native Hawaiian stories included the tale of the first Hawaiian, who was born from a taro root. Thus, story is the “succession of language,” since all stories were oral. It comes from two words, mo’o, meaning succession, and olelo, meaning language or speaking. Native Hawaiian Storytelling The Native Hawaiian word for story is “moʻolelo,” but it can also mean history, legend, tradition, and the like. Many of the Choctaw traditional tales employ animal characters to teach such lessons in a humorous vein. In addition, the oral tradition includes history as well as life lessons or moral teachings. For example, the Choctaw oral tradition includes two creation stories: One relates to migration from the west and another to creation from a mound. Their stories were intended to preserve the tribe’s history and educate the young. Choctaw Storytelling Like all Native American tribes, the Choctaw have an oral storytelling tradition going back generations. Here are some examples of storytelling as a method of passing down cultural traditions. It can encompass myths, legends, fables, religion, prayers, proverbs, and instructions. Truth is less important than providing cultural cohesion. Not all of these stories are historically accurate or even true. The oral tradition can take many forms, including epic poems, chants, rhymes, songs, and more. Oral storytelling is telling a story through voice and gestures. It exists (and existed) to entertain, to inform, and to promulgate cultural traditions and values. It occurs in every culture and from every age. Before there was writing, there was storytelling. Storytelling is universal and is as ancient as humankind. 2/16/2024 0 Comments Peach tartlets recipeFan 5-6 slices of fruit on top of the almond meal, overlapping slightly each other. Spread some almond meal (if using), over each rectangular piece of puff pastry, leaving a small border (the almond meal will help absorb some of the juices from the peaches and leave you with a crispier crust). Remove the first sheet pan from the refrigerator.Cut them in ½” slices and place them in a bowl with the granulated sugar, almond extract, lemon zest, lemon juice. Some peaches are “free stone” (see note below), and, by twisting the two halves, should separate easily from the pit. Cut each one around the “seam” and twist. The puff pastry should chill for half an hour while you preheat the oven and work with the fruit. Place the second pan in the refrigerator as well. Return the pan to the refrigerator and repeat the same with the second sheet of puff pastry to form six more puff pastry tartlet shells. Then with a fork, prick each piece several times in the center part of each rectangle to allow the steam to escape while they bake. Place the rectangles on the first parchment- paper-lined sheet pan and, with a sharp knife, score a small boarder around each rectangle. Cut each puff pastry sheet into six, equal rectangles (they do not have to be perfect or exactly even). With a sharp knife (or, with a pizza cutter), trim the edges. Place one sheet of puff pastry on a slightly floured surface, unfold it, and roll it out gently to about 10” x 12”.Line two, 13” x 9” sheet pans with parchment paper. The puff pastry should unfold easily but still be cold (it is best not to allow it to get to room temperature).
